Capstone Turbine Corporation 21211 Nordhoff Street Chatsworth CA 91311 Service Notice SN0025: C30/C65/C200 Cable Shield Modification Cutting shield wire in user connection board cable harnesses NOTE: Cable shield modifications are only performed on one end of each MulitPac RS-485 cable in a system. 1. Determine whether modifications will be performed on the MultiPac connector at Inter-A/Inter Controller A or Inter-B/Inter Controller B (refer to the stamped label on the user connection board at the MultiPac connectors). Modifications must be made at the same connector end for each MultiPac in the system. 2. Locate the shield wire on the P16 connector of the MultiPac cable (see Figure 1). Shield Wire Figure 1. Location of MultiPac Cable Shield wire 3. If a proper extraction tool is available, pull out the shield wire as shown in Figure 2. If not, cut the shield wire flush with the connector. Figure 2. Shield Wire Removed from Connector 4. Fold back cut wire and tape to harness using electrical tape. See Figure 3.
