run, but a valid start command has not been given. At any time when the skid is in stand by state, issuing a start command will start the skid. Skid maintenance should never be performed in stand by state; the power should first be disconnected from the skid. Run state: After a start command is issued, the System Status indicator will read “Run”. This means that the PLC is processing the run sequence, and that everything is operating normally. The skid must first be in stand by state before it can transition to run state. Run-time alarm state: When the PLC registers a run-time alarm (see Alarm Procedures section of this manual), the System Status indicator will read “Run-time Alarm”. The skid will continue to run with one or more active run-time alarms. Issuing a reset command while the skid is in run-time alarm state will transition the skid back to run state. Issuing a stop command while the skid is in run-time alarm state, will transition the skid to auto stop state, and then to shut down alarm state. Auto stop state: When an operator issues a stop command, or if the PLC registers a shut down alarm, the skid will enter an automated shutdown sequence that takes several seconds to complete. During this time, the System Status indicator will read “Auto Stop”, and no other start, stop, or reset commands will be accepted until the sequence is finished. After the auto stop sequence is complete the skid will transition to either stand by state or shut down alarm state, depending upon the condition of the shutdown command. The skid must first be in run state before it can transition to auto stop state. Shut down alarm state: After the skid registers a shut down alarm (see Alarm Procedures section of this manual), and the skid has completed its stop sequence, the skid enters shut down alarm state. In shut down alarm state, the New Alarms page will automatically appear in the page display area of the display screen. Issuing a reset Section 4 Navigating the Display Screen Page 4
