Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Application Guide: Interconnection for Capstone MicroTurbines Configurations The electrical output of the Capstone MicroTurbine generator is 480/277 Volts, 3 phase, Wye, with a solidly grounded neutral. This configuration is commonly used in the U.S. Customer’s distribution power systems vary from secondary service levels, 208/120 Volts to primary levels, up to 13,800 Volts. In these cases, transformation is required for MicroTurbine interconnection with the power system. Standard transformers are commercially available from the vendors for the following voltages. MicroTurbines can be connected and operated with an asymmetric configuration, such as 120/240 Volts, 3 phases, 3 or 4 wires NOTE MicroTurbine Voltage Connection Voltage Transformer Availability 480/277, 3-phase, 4-wire 120/208 3-phase, 4-wire Yes 240/120, 3-phase or 1-phase, 3-wire Yes 480, 3-phase, 3-wire Yes 600, 3-phase, 3-wire Yes 4160/2400, 3-phase, 4-wire Yes 12000, 3-phase, 3-wire Yes 13800/7200, 3-phase, 4-wire Yes Consult Capstone for other voltage levels Figure 1.
