Capstone Turbine Corporation 21211 Nordhoff Street Chatsworth CA 91311 USA Technical Reference: C200 Hazloc Fire Suppression System 2.2. General Precautions The following general precautions must be observed and followed at all times. Failure to do so may result in personal injury and/or equipment damage. WARNING: Turbine generators contain and produce high voltage. High voltage can injure or kill. Obey all safety procedures when you work around electrical equipment. WARNING: Make sure the microturbine system is OFF and the dedicated disconnect switch is in the open position and is locked. This will help prevent injury and damage to the equipment. NOTE: Some of the following precautions do not directly apply to users, but it is important for users to be aware of them. Only Kidde Factory Trained Technicians may perform maintenance on the FSS components. Several FSS components are located inside the microturbine enclosure. Only Capstone Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) are permitted access to the inside of the enclosure. The assistance of an ASP may be required to access, reset or assist a Kidde authorized technician in performing maintenance on some FSS components. Read and obey all warnings and cautions. Keep all flammable materials away from turbines and their components. Do not operate or work on the equipment if mentally or physically impaired, or after consumption of alcohol or drugs. Keep an ABC rated fire extinguisher near the microturbine installation. Obey all applicable local, state, and national codes and regulations. 2.3. Safety Precautions Read and understand the Safety Information section of the Capstone MicroTurbineTM C200 User’s Manual (Table 1) before working on the FSS and related equipment. Failure to obey all safety precautions and general instructions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the equipment. When servicing the FSS, observe the most current version of the Kidde Fire Systems Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual (see Table 1). Read and adhere to the instructions contained in this document completely, prior to installing or operating the FSS, or installing or operating a turbine connected to a FSS. 410089 Rev A (February 2013) Page 6 of 54 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
