Capstone Turbine Corporation  21211 Nordhoff Street  Chatsworth  CA 91311  USA Technical Reference: C200 Hazloc Fire Suppression System 1. Introduction This document presents technical information for the Capstone C200 Hazardous Location Fire Suppression System. The Fire Suppression System (FSS) is a CO2 based fire detection and fire suppression system. The FSS discharges CO2 into the microturbine enclosure when activated. Two fully charged CO2 tanks mounted externally on the C200 hazardous location enclosure connect to discharge lines used to supply CO2 to four release nozzles installed inside the enclosure. The FSS utilizes components that are installed in one of two locations. The first set of components includes a controller, manual pull station, and an alarm horn/strobe assembly. These components must be installed indoors in a safe area (non-hazardous area). The second set of components is installed within/next to the microturbine. These components include the CO2 rack assembly, hazardous area-rated horn and strobe assembly, pressure-activated CO2 louver, heat detectors and CO2 discharge nozzles. 2. Safety 2.1.
