Parts may be disassembled without damage to the parts or assembly. Assemblies are assigned a core number and an assembly dash number (i.e., 50XXXX-100). ASTM ñ American Society for Testing and Materials. ATE ñ Automatic Test Equipment. ATEX ñ French abbreviation of Atmospheres Explosibles, Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Directive, 94/9EC. ATP ñ Acceptance Test Procedure. Test(s) that is (are) used to verify that components, assemblies, modules, or MicroTurbine system meets specified requirements within a prescribed range. This term is also used generically to refer to the test itself. One of these tests is designed for each major subassembly in the MicroTurbine. The test is performed on each instance of the subassembly after its final assembly and before the subassembly is approved by Capstone for customer use. AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDER ñ An ìAuthorizedî provider of installation, maintenance and repair services for Capstone products. Authorization is provided by contract and includes the right to adjudicate warranty and sell service parts. An Authorized service provider may or may not be an Authorized Distributor. BATTERY CONTROLLER - A controller that is used to manage the flow of electrical energy into and out of a battery. In addition to regulating the flow for the convenience of the load connected to the controller, it also must manage the state of charge of the battery. BB-RFC - Ball Bearing Rotary Flow Compressor. BCHP ñ Building Cooling Heat & Power ñ cogeneration application. BCM ñ Battery Control Module (Model C60). BCT - Battery Controller, Transient BCM ñ Battery Control Module (Model C60). BPT - Battery Pack, Transient. BRAKE RESISTOR - A low impedance path to discharge the DC bus voltage in the controller. The brake resistor supplies an alternate path for power from the generator if a load is suddenly removed. Will absorb excess energy out of the system. BRANCH CIRCUIT ñ The portion of the building wiring system beyond the final overcurrent protective device on the power-distribution panel that protects the circuit to the field-wiring terminals in a permanently connected unit or to the receptacle outlet for a cord-connected unit. BTU (Btu) ñ British Thermal Unit. A measure of heat energy; the amount of heat energy necessary to raise the temperature of one pound-mass of water one degree Fahrenheit.
