Comparison between Canadian and European Data Data from the Canadian and European studies were compared. However, since the variance was unknown for the European data, the possibilities for subsequent statistical analyses were limited. Issues about dried product quality, drying processes, kiln control and kiln drying related knowledge of groups were compared using two sample t-tests (alpha = 0.05). Performing the tests was possible since sample size for the European data was known. It was assumed that the variance was the same for the two data sets and that the variance values from the Canadian survey were a reasonable proxy for the European variance.
