1030 Clarke Side Road • Box 5395 • Station B • London, ON Canada N6A 4P4 unifin@kochind.com SERVICE BULLETIN 4 DATE: March 20, 2002 R0 TO: micoGenTM Heat Recovery Unit Users Contact: Carmine Fontana, Customer Service Manager RE: Actuator Cycling From: L. Brescacin, Thermal Engineering & QA Manager PHONE: (519) 451-0310 Ext 143 EMAIL: FontanaC@kochind.com FAX: (519) 451-0310 UNIFIN’s micoGenTM units have been designed to primarily operate in the recovery mode. In doing so it is intended that once the Turbine exhaust exceeds Gas Set Point 2, the actuator of the micoGenTM unit will move the diverter to the recovery mode and it should stay there the majority of the time. If the actuator cycles frequently, more that 5 cycles per hour, the set points and operating conditions should be reviewed per the following guidelines. Frequent cycling of the actuator will result in it failing prematurely. Set Point Recommendations: a) Water Set Point #2 (WSP2) should be 5 °F more than the Operating water inlet temperature. b) Water Set Point #1 (WSP1) should be 5 °F more than the Operating water outlet temperature. c) The difference between Water Set Point #1 and Water Set Point #2 must be greater than 10 °F. Cycling of the actuator due to failure to comply with these recommendations will nullify the warranty of the actuator and diverter mechanism.
