Systems Affected All existing Capstone Model C30 MicroTurbine systems shipped after May 2001. Safety Precautions Only Capstone Authorized Serviced Providers should open the MicroTurbine and other equipment connected to the MicroTurbine. The systems can include multiple sources of power. Observe all Safety Instructions contained within the MicroTurbine User’s Manual. Summary The existing 11-32 O.D. nut (511398) used on the Model C30 Generator Terminal Block has been upgraded to ensure more consistent torque during operation. A replacement 10-32 O.D. nut (516632) should be installed on the stainless steel terminal block stud and torqued to 30 inch-pounds with a 1/4-inch socket wrench at the next point in time that the AC Generator Terminal Block lugs are required to be disconnected. All units shipped prior to May 2001 that have brass terminal block studs DO NOT require replacement. However, Capstone recommends that the torque be verified on all field units at the next regularly scheduled service interval due to the high power nature of the connection. Responsibility Capstone is responsible for providing a shipment of replacement nuts to Authorized Service Providers.
