Service Bulletin: Fuel Gas Booster Installation Instructions for the Capstone 60 Fuel Connections (Figure 1): 1. The Fuel Gas Booster inlet and outlets are 1-inch NPT and 3/4-inch NPT female connections, respectively. 2. The High Pressure Fuel Option kit required between the Fuel Gas Booster outlet and the Capstone 60 inlet have 1/2-inch NPT female connections on either side. 3. The Capstone 60 inlet connection is a –12JIC 37° flared fitting. The Capstone 60 is equipped with an adapter –12JIC to 3/4-inch NPT female to allow connection to the unit with 3/4-inch pipe. Additionally, a reducer is also supplied (3/4-inch NPT male to 1/2-inch NPT female) to allow the use of 1/2-inch pipe to the Capstone 60 inlet. 4. Due to the wide variation in site gas connection requirements, the user is responsible for providing the necessary piping connections between these devices in accordance with local legislation, codes, and certification requirements. Software Parameters: The Capstone software must be setup to treat the Fuel Gas Booster as an External Auxiliary Load. Any of the output relays may be configured to perform this function; however, the specified wiring connections demonstrate the use of Relay 1. The command OUTRLY = 1, 1, 10 sets up the output contact (AC1) in the proper mode. This can be configured from the Display Panel by selecting Relay Number 1 from the UCB Relays menu. Select EXT LOAD on line 3 of the display and select Active Closed. The fault input must also be properly configured. The command INPFLT=1,1,3,120 allows this fault to be asserted with a Severity Level 3, if the digital input FLT1 is held low for at least 12 seconds. This must be configured for Fault Input 1. Enabling Fault Input 1 can configure this from the display under the System Settings menu, and setting a System Severity Level of 3 with a debounce time of 12 seconds on the second Fault Input 1 submenu. 512001 - 001 (Jan 2001) Page 4 of 10 Service Bulletin SB0019 This information is confidential and proprietary to Capstone.
