If you choose not to upgrade the software, then you must do the following each time service is required on any turbine in the MultiPac: a. Create labels for the APS unit and for each microturbine in the MultiPac with the following WARNING: Place these labels on the APS door and in the Communications Bay of each microturbine. (This step only needs to be done once. The remaining steps must be performed for each service event.) b. Stop the MultiPac and wait for shutdown. c. On the microturbine to be serviced, disconnect 802.3 coaxial MultiPac communications cable at the J2 connector of the User Connection Interface Board (located in the Communications Bay) (refer to Figure 1). d. If you want to run the rest of the MultiPac group while servicing the turbine, perform the following steps: 1. Bypass the microturbine to be serviced and reconnect the coaxial cable to the next microturbine in the MultiPac. (This will keep communications active with the remaining turbines in the MultiPac.) 2. Start the MultiPac. e. Perform the necessary service. f. StoptheMultiPac. g. Reconnect the cables. h. Start the MultiPac. WARNING Coaxial MultiPac communications cable must be disconnected from user bay of microturbine to be serviced before performing any service work on the turbine, in order to prevent unexpected power ON of the turbine during service. Failure to observe this warning may result in death or serious personal injury. Ensure cable is reconnected after service is completed. WARNING In Dual Mode or Stand Alone mode only, if turbine to be serviced requires service to the UCB board, then you must also bypass RS485 cable or shut down entire MultiPac.
