Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Work Instructions: Engine Air Filter Cleaning or Replacement - Model C30 MicroTurbine Required Tools Soft bristle brush K&N air filter cleaner K&N air filter oil spray or K&N squeeze bottle air filter oil and a shallow pan Procedures Refer to MicroTurbine Standard Maintenance Schedule (440000) for maintenance details as required. CAUTION Do not operate the MicroTurbine without the engine air filter in place. Do not remove or service the air inlet filter any time the MicroTurbine is running. The engine inlet air filter may be replaced or cleaned. To service the engine inlet air filter, proceed as follows: Replacing the Air Filter 1. Command the MicroTurbine “OFF” and wait for the Cooldown cycle to complete. 2. Unscrew the engine air inlet cover in a counter-clockwise direction. 3. Remove the engine air inlet cover. 4. Remove the engine inlet air filter element. 5. If the air filter appears too worn or dirty for further service, replace the air filter with a new one or a newly cleaned one (refer to the Cleaning the Air Filter section below). 6. Place the air filter in position within the air filter cover. 7. Replace the air filter cover by turning it in a clockwise direction. Cleaning the Air Filter 1. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 from the above paragraph. 2. Tap the element to dislodge any large embedded dirt, and then gently brush with a soft bristle brush.
