The engine air inlet filter should be inspected periodically and replaced to ensure unrestricted flow of clean combustion and cooling air to the generator and turbine engine. Refer to the MicroTurbine Standard Maintenance Schedule 440000 for recommended service intervals. Extreme conditions, especially in areas subject to wind and airborne dirt or dust, may require that the engine air inlet filter be inspected and changed more frequently. Safety Precautions Only Capstone Authorized Service Providers (ASP’s) should open the MicroTurbine and other equipment connected to the MicroTurbine. The systems can include multiple sources of power. Observe and adhere to the Safety Precautions listed below: Checktoensurethattheinletfuelsupplyisshutoff. AlwayschecktoensurethatyourMicroTurbineisde-energizedfrom the utility. Isolate and lock out the utility (if applicable). IsolateandlockoutanyothersourcesofpowertotheMicroTurbine. For example, connections to the solid state relays in the MicroTurbine communications bay. OpentheStandAlonebatterycircuitbreaker,lockitintheOFFposition, and then unplug the battery cable. Waitatleast5minutesafterdisconnectionfromutilitybeforeservicingto allow for electrical energy dissipation. Verifythatnovoltageispresentonanyelectricalterminals. Neverworkonenergizedequipment.
