Moving the Skid: Upon arrival of the gas skid, it should be inspected for shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier. There will be a packing list included with the shipment. Verify that every thing has arrived, and store additional pallets etc in a safe dry place for use during the installation and commissioning process. The skid will be equipped with fork pocket holes and/or lifting eyes. If fork pocket holes are included, they may be used to lift and maneuver the skid. Ensure that the fork lift vehicle is rated to carry the weight of the skid. Also, fork extensions may be required to ensure that the lifting surface extends beyond the center of gravity for the skid. If only lifting eyes are included on the skid base, a crane will be required to set the skid. In this scenario, a sling with spreader bars is required to avoid damaging skid components. See figure 2-3 for details on lifting the skid. Machine dollies may also be needed to maneuver the skid to an indoor location. When the skid is commissioned, it should generate minimal vibration. However, it is recommended that the skid be secured with four retaining plates. Details for the fabrication and installation of these plates are provided in figure 2-2.
