ST PETERSBURG SECTION 2 SITE LAYOUT AND MOUNTING Site Layout and Mounting: Before the gas conditioning skid is installed, it will be necessary to pick a suitable area to mount the skid. Unison Solutions recommends that a clearance of 40 inches be maintained around the entire perimeter of the skid (see figure 2-1) to allow adequate room for maintenance. The mounting surface should be a flat level area. A concrete pad extending a foot or more beyond each edge of the skid is recommended. The surface should have less than a 2% grade. Provisions should be made for maintaining inlet gas pressure supplied to the skid. For digester applications a pressure regulation device such as a back pressure regulator or actuated valve may need to be installed in conjunction with a flare to keep the digester from over pressurizing and breaking the seal on the digester lid. For landfill applications, unless the skid is specifically designed to maintain landfill vacuum, an additional blower with a throttling valve may need to be installed in conjunction with a flare to maintain proper landfill vacuum. Landfill vacuum may also be maintained by the gas end use device if it is oversized for the landfill and can be throttled down. A backup blower and flare may still be desired for use during extended down time. On the back or side of the control panel, there is a serial number tag for the skid. This tag will list the rating for the panel and the skid. Refer to the appropriate instructions below for outdoor or indoor installation.
