Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Capstone MicroTurbine C200 Heat Recovery Module (HRM) User’s Manual When installed indoors, the HRM exhaust must be vented to the outside. Make sure that there is satisfactory fresh air ventilation. Exhaust must be pulled away from the HRM/microturbine area to reduce the risk of exposure to dangerous pollutants. When installed outdoors, the HRM should be located where there is satisfactory fresh air flow so the exhaust emissions can properly dissipate. For exhaust connection data, temperatures, pipe requirements, and other related information, contact your Capstone ASP or distributor. 1.1.6. Hot Liquid Precautions WARNING: The hot water pressure relief valve can activate suddenly with little to no warning if the water pressure exceeds 150 psig (1034 kPa). Make sure that proper insulation is installed where needed on pipes that transmit hot liquid. Refer to the C200 HRM Technical Reference (Table 1) and the O&I drawing (Table 1) for HRM installation guidelines. 1.1.7. Acoustic Emissions Precautions The Capstone Microturbine is designed to produce safe acoustic emission levels. However, when working within a radius of 10 meters (33 feet) from an operating microturbine, the sound level may exceed 65 dBA. Capstone recommends that hearing protection be worn when working on or in the immediate vicinity of operating microturbines for extended time periods. Other acoustic emissions regulations may apply to your specific installation location. Ensure that your installation complies with all applicable local codes and regulations. WARNING: The temperature of the water that flows through the HRM can exceed 100 °C (212 °F). The pipes and external surfaces on the HRM can be hot enough to cause personal injury. WARNING: If liquid is introduced into a hot HRM exchanger, injury to personnel and severe damage to the HRM can result. Make sure that the heat exchanger is at ambient temperature before pumping liquid into the HRM. WARNING: If liquid flow to the HRM ceases during operation, it is possible to create steam within the unit. The steam can be released suddenly with little to no warning from a pressure relief vent. 400021 Rev B (October 2012) Page 9 of 26 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.PDF Image | Capstone MicroTurbine C200 Heat Recovery Module (HRM) User’s Manual
