9005 Internal Fault GDSP IPM MODULE Generator DSP IPM Module Fault Occurred System Severity Level 6 Hardware circuit protection is provided in the Intelligent Power Module (IPM) to detect overcurrent, under-voltage, and overtemperature conditions. The software declares an IPM fault when any of these circuits is not operating correctly. Recommended Spare Parts • Battery Charger • DPC Power Board • PM • IPM Power Supply • BCT Contactor • BCT Power Board Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution Generator 3-phase IPM Module Fault Is Detected. DC bus voltage reached the hardware limits (900V). Both the inverter IPM fault and the generator IPM fault should be detected in this situation. One main reason to have this fault is the generator brake overtemperature. Excess off-load operations can cause the brake overtemperature fault. Increase the time between each off-load operation. Battery is not strong enough to keep the DC bus voltage during the start period. Check battery voltage and its SOC, and make sure that the battery is properly charged before start the unit. Refer to the Troubleshooting An Inoperative MicroTurbine section for checking the battery voltage. Charge the battery per Service Bulletin SB0023. The unit is not initialized properly. The generator glue logic on the DPC control board latches the IPM fault. System reboot is required to clear those faults. Clear the latched faults. Short circuit exists. Check the connection between the generator and the DPC. Fix the short circuit condition. Generator 3-phase IPM is damaged DPC has problem(s). Refer to Fault Code 2009. Contact Customer Service Data Corrupted Data structures in PM’s may have been corrupted. Re-program Engine PM. Re-program DPC Power Board PM.
