6006 Internal Fault (Cont’d) Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution TET rise not detected within Light Off Window (Continued) TET Thermocouple does not report that the Engine lit An audible engine light is heard but temperature is not reported from the controller. Replace Engine Thermo- couple. Replace Thermocouple Cable. After replacing the engine thermo- couple, the TET still does not increase when audible light occurs. Attempt an ECM Control Board PM upload. Replace ECM Control Board Combustion Hardware failed Fuel is being delivered and spark is functioning. Inspect/Replace Injectors 6007 Internal Fault ENG OVER SPEED Engine Overspeed System Severity Level 3 The Engine Overspeed fault is declared when the software reads that the engine speed is greater than 98,000 RPM. The software then commands the blow off valve to open, purging all compressed air from the engine to reduce the speed. Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution Engine speed sensor reports reading greater than maximum limit Generator current limit exceeded Controls may have been incapable of extracting enough current from the generator to maintain speeds less than the maximum limit Refer to Troubleshoot- ing for Generator Power Foldback Conditions (Fault Code 6015) Brake Resistor Temperature Limits exceeded Engine is only rated to handle a full off- load every five minutes. Consistent off- loads can cause the brake temperature to rise and foldback on power absorption capabilities. Restart system and perform load leveling to reduce offload require- ments. Check Brake Resistor temperature or visually check for glowing red. Speed Sensing Circuitry Not Reading correctly Problem occurs intermittently where the engine is operating below maximum speed (96krpm), but this fault is declared. Improper grounding can cause false speed readings Verify grounding as per installation instructions System is grounded properly, but intermittent speed readings still occur.
