Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 Application Guide: Dual Mode Controller (DMC) Power Connection Locations The power connections on the MicroTurbine are located in the Power Bay on the left-hand side of the User Connection Bay (UCB) (as viewed from the rear of the MicroTurbine). Control Signal Connection Locations The control signal connections on the MicroTurbine are located in the Communications Bay at the right-hand side of the UCB (as viewed from the rear of the MicroTurbine). Refer to the Capstone MicroTurbine Installation and Start Up Manual for an illustration of the circuit board in the Communications Bay of the UCB that depicts the position of the control signal connection terminal blocks. DMC Connection Locations The DMC connections are all located within the DMC cabinet. Interface Installation Parameters The DMC must be mounted within 100 cable feet of the MicroTurbine. For a MultiPac installation, the DMC must be within 100 cable feet of the master MicroTurbine. The DMC is designed to accommodate all connections through conduit brought into the bottom of the DMC cabinet. For indoor installations, connections may be brought into the top or sides of the cabinet if this is more convenient. On 400A, 600A, 800A and 1200A DMC units, removable floor stands are also provided for installation purposes. Control Power Transformer Configuration The DMC contains a Control Power Transformer (or CPT) that provides 120 volts (nominal) for use by the components internal to the DMC. The CPT contains various taps on the primary and secondary, and the taps are configured for the correct voltage range prior to shipping from the factory and DO NOT require adjustment at installation. 513000-001 (Oct 2001) Page 22 of 32 DMC Application Guide.
