Capstone Turbine Corporation UPS Controller User’s Manual Changing the Inverter Reserve Trip Point If the inverter reserve value is set too high, the system will trip. Only change this value for test purposes. The operator can attempt to change the inverter reserve trip point of a Hybrid UPS unit while the rest of the system continues operation as follows: 1. If the display panel is dark, touch the screen at any location to re-illuminate it. 2. If the display is showing the Main screen, press the Maintenance screen button. This screen is password protected. Contact your ASP for your password. The Maintenance screen shown in Figure 6 will appear. 3. Touch the button under the inverter reserve trip point. A numeric keypad will appear on the screen. Type in the desired number for the inverter reserve trip point and press the enter key on the keypad. 4. The new kVA value should now show on the button. Returning a Hybrid UPS Unit to Service The operator can put a Hybrid UPS unit back into service while the rest of the system continues operation as follows: 1. If the display panel is dark, touch the screen at any location to re-illuminate it. 2. If the display is showing the Main screen, press the Maintenance screen button. This screen is password protected. Contact your ASP for your password. The Maintenance screen shown in Figure 6 will appear. 3. Touch the button labeled Enable corresponding to the unit to be returned to service. A Confirm Enable button will be displayed at a different location on the screen to prevent inadvertent actions. If the Exit button is pressed, the unit will not be Enabled. 4. An enabled unit will show in its corresponding MP Status whether it has been enabled or not. 5. Note that a unit can be enabled using other interfaces, including the building management system. Transfer to/from Utility Power The UPS Controller does not control external connections to activate a transfer scheme to or from the utility power source. However, it does receive status information and make the position of the transfer scheme visible on the top level screen. To see the status of the transfer scheme: 1. If the display panel is dark, touch the screen at any location to re-illuminate it. 2. Navigate to the top level main screen shown in Figure 4. 3. The position of the transfer scheme will be graphically displayed, along with status information about the utility power and load power. 400028 Rev B (January 2014) Page 27 of 35 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
