Capstone Turbine Corporation UPS Controller User’s Manual Taking a Hybrid UPS Unit Out of Service The operator can take a Hybrid UPS unit out of service while the rest of the system continues operation as follows: 1. If the display panel is dark, touch the screen at any location to re-illuminate it. 2. If the display is showing the Main screen, press the Maintenance screen button. This screen is password protected. Contact your ASP for your password. The Maintenance screen shown in Figure 6 will appear. 3. Touch the button labeled Disable MultiPac corresponding to the unit to be taken out of service. A Confirm Disable button will be displayed at a different location on the screen to prevent inadvertent actions. If the Exit button is pressed, the unit will not be disabled. 4. A disabled unit will show in its corresponding MP Status whether it has been disabled or not. 5. Note that a unit can be disabled using other interfaces, including a building management system. Clearing Faults on a Hybrid UPS Microturbine The operator can attempt to clear faults present on a Hybrid UPS unit while the rest of the system continues operation as follows: 1. If the display panel is dark, touch the screen at any location to re-illuminate it. 2. If the display is showing the Main screen, press the Maintenance screen button. This screen is password protected. Contact your ASP for your password. The Maintenance screen shown in Figure 6 will appear. 3. Touch the button labeled Clear Faults corresponding to the unit showing a fault code. A confirmation button will be displayed at a different location on the screen to prevent inadvertent actions. If the Exit button is pressed, the fault will not be cleared. 4. If after pressing the fault clear button the fault is not cleared, proceed to disable the unit from the MultiPac and attempt to clear the fault after the unit has been disabled. 5. After the fault has been cleared, the system should show System OK as its Fault Code. 6. Some faults will require to power down a Hybrid UPS unit completely. If this is the case, first disable the unit and wait for it to go to Standby, then proceed to turn off all the disconnect switches (grid, load, and battery). Leave the unit completely off for 30 seconds and then proceed to power it up again by closing all the disconnects.
