Capstone Turbine Corporation Model C200 User’s Manual Capstone offers a C200 microturbine that includes a Catalyst Reduction Module (CRM) to provide further reduction of CO emissions. In addition, the C200 CARB models meet the emission requirements of the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The C200 CARB microturbine incorporates a Heat Recovery Module (HRM) as well as CRM to satisfy the 2007 Fossil Fuel Emissions Standards for CARB certification. Refer to the C200 Product Specification (460045) for details about the Low Emissions configuration. Refer to the C200 CARB Product Specification (460062) for a description of Capstone C200 CARB models. 2.2.6. Enclosure The microturbine standard enclosure is designed for indoor and outdoor use. The enclosure is fabricated from heavy gage cold rolled steel and is powder coated for maximum durability. The C200 hazardous location microturbine has a stainless steel pressurized enclosure, which houses the microturbine system, and is certified for use in locations with partially explosive atmosphere (ATEX) as specified by EU Directive 94/9/EC.. Refer to the C200 Hazardous Location Application Guide (480047) for details. 2.2.7. Combined Heating and Power (CHP) Combined Heating and Power (CHP) allows the user to realize the benefits of usable electrical and thermal power from a single fuel source. The electricity provides on-site power generation, and the heat offsets or replaces local thermal loads such as space heating, pool heating and industrial process hot water. CHP requires an additional Heat Recovery Module (HRM). In addition, the oxygen-rich exhaust together with ultra-low emissions makes the direct exhaust applicable for some food processing and greenhouse uses, such as heating, cooling (by absorption), dehumidifying, baking, or drying. The C200 HRM is an exhaust economizer with integral temperature setpoint controller and exhaust diverter. The controller provides digital readout of water temperature leaving the heat exchanger, and allows the user to set the desired outlet temperature. An electrically operated exhaust gas diverter valve is actuated by the controller to maintain outlet temperature to the selected setpoint. Power for the controller and actuator can be supplied by the auxiliary electrical output of the C200. Contact your Capstone Authorized Service Provider for details. Refer to the C200 Heat Recovery Module User’s Manual (400021) for HRM operating instructions. 2.2.8. Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Option Capstone offers a C200 microturbine that enables the use of LPG fuel, which requires that all fuel piping be heat traced and insulated. The C200 LPG model includes insulation and heat tracing on all internal pipes. Internal heat tracing is controlled by a heat trace controller in the C200 enclosure.
