APS Maintenance The following paragraphs describe the APS maintenance procedures. Only Capstone Authorized Service Providers can perform maintenance on the APS components. 5.1. Scheduled Maintenance Preventive maintenance of the APS includes performing scheduled maintenance of its components at regular intervals. The list of maintenance schedules for Capstone products is contained in the Microturbine Standard Maintenance Schedule Work Instructions (Table 1). This document is available from your Authorized Service Provider for reference. Only Authorized Service Providers are permitted to perform maintenance tasks on the APS. 5.2. UPS Battery Maintenance The APS includes an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). This device is self-regulating but needs to have the batteries checked every two years. If the batteries have been charged for a minimum of eight hours and the UPS fails the self test, the unit should be replaced as there are no serviceable items in the UPS. 5.3. Warranty Each turbine ships with a standard warranty. Extended warranties are available. Contact your Authorized Service Provider for details on Capstone warranty terms and conditions. 5.4. Troubleshooting NOTE: Only Capstone Authorized Service Providers can perform the following troubleshooting steps. The following paragraphs contain basic troubleshooting procedures that can be performed on the APS. The procedures given here focus on isolating problems related to the APS. Refer to the applicable microturbine user manual (Table 1) for instructions to troubleshoot the turbines. When troubleshooting the APS, refer to the APS-145 Technical Reference (Table 1) for wiring details. Replace any defective wires or components. Refer to the APS Troubleshooting Guide (Table 1) for more detailed troubleshooting steps. NOTE: Failure to provide proper maintenance will void the APS warranty.
