• • Engine Mode is Efficiency Engine Speed is at 96,000 RPM Troubleshooting A MicroTurbine With A Low Power Output Overview This section outlines instructions for troubleshooting a MicroTurbine that produces a reduced output power. Procedure All parameters defined below are available through the maintenance version of the CRMS. Possible causes of reduced system power output: 1. Standard Ambient Performance Correction for Microturbine System (No Problem) • Check Ambient Temperature • Check Ambient Pressure • Compare System Performance vs. Correction Curve 2. Low Grid Voltage • Any Inverter Phase Current is equal to 46 Amps • Utility Voltage is less than 217 Vrms LN 3. Electronics Air Filter Needs Cleaning or DPC Heatsink Fans Not Operating • Heatsinks are reaching high temperatures • Generator Direct Current is equal to Generator Current Limit • Any Inverter Phase Current is equal to Inverter Current Limit 4. DPC Dissipating Power Internal • Engine Speed is 96,000 RPM • Turbine Exit Temperature is 593 °C (1100 °F) • Inverter Power Output is less than 85% defined Ambient Performance Correction • Generator Power Output is greater than 105% defined Ambient Performance Correction 5A. Limited Fuel Supply • Turbine Exit Temperature (TET) is not reaching 593 °C (1100 °F) 5B. Limited Fuel Supply or Clogged Fuel Filter • Engine Mode is Power • Engine Speed is at 96,000 RPM • Turbine Exit Temperature (TET) is not reaching 538 °C (1000F) • Possible 6. Engine Air Filter Needs Cleaning • Engine Speed is 96,000 RPM • Turbine Exit Temperature (TET) is 593 °C (1100 °F) • Inverter Power Output is less than 85% defined Ambient Performance Correction • Generator Power Output is greater than 105% of Inverter Power Output 7. Failed Engine Components • Same conditions as Engine Air Filter Needs Cleaning • Engine Air Filter is free from obstruction 8A. Weak Generator Magnet in Engine • Engine Mode is Efficiency • Turbine Exit Temperature is 593 °C (1100 °F) • Engine Speed is less than 96,000 RPM • Generator Direct Current is between 57 and 60 Amps 8B.
