Used to define the concentration of gaseous pollutant species. ppmvd - Parts per million on a dry volumetric basis. Used to define the concentration of gaseous pollutant species. PRECHARGE RESISTORS ñ Used to limit surge current into DC-Bus upon power-up. PRIME MOVER ñ Any equipment used to power an electricity-producing device. PRODUCT OPTION (Kit) ñ A collection of parts, accessories, assemblies and/or components that are added to the baseline system to extend or modify the system capabilities. Examples include winterizing kit for operating in temperatures < 4°C, sound attenuation kit to reduce generated noise below the baseline specification, or heavy-duty inlet filter kit to accommodate extreme filtering environments. PSI ñ Pounds per square inch. 1 psi = 6.895 kPa. PSIA ñ Pounds per square inch absolute. Equal to psig (gauge)+ atmospheric pressure. PSIG ñ Pounds per square inch gauge. 0 psig = atmospheric pressure (14.7 at sea level). 1 psig = 27.707 in. of water. PWM ñ Pulse Width Modulation. A control technique that varies the duty cycle of a digital electrical waveform to effect a change in an average value of an analog variable. RAW EMISSIONS ñ Emissions that are as measured from the exhaust duct, expressed on a dry volumetric basis in parts per million. REACTANCE ñ Opposition of flow of alternating current in an A/C circuit. RECUPERATOR ñ A heat exchanger design to recover waste heat in the turbine exhaust to heat Pcd air prior to introduction in to the combustion process. The use of a recuperator increases overall system thermal efficiency. Less fuel is required to be burned to reach the required T.I.T. REMOTE MONITORING ñ Accessing Capstone units via telephone, cellular, satellite, cable or other communication methods to control, monitor or troubleshoot a unit or MultiPac. RESISTANCE ñ Opposition to the flow of current in an electrical circuit. Basic unit is ohm. RET ñ Recuperator Exit Temperature RFC ñ Rotary Flow Compressor. Used to increase the pressure of the gas upstream of the combustion process. The RFC also regulates the fuel flow requirements by adjusting its rotational speed; which in turn regulates the speed and power. Used in low-pressure gas fuel systems. RMS ñ Root-Mean-Square.
