Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: MultiPac Operation and Technical Information Re-assigning a New Master In case of a power shutdown to the master turbine due to a failure or planned shutdown, the entire MultiPac will be unavailable. For prolonged outages, a new master may be assigned. Reassigning a new master consists of removing power from the master, as well as the new master, and then reconfiguring all UCB wiring to the new master turbine. The reassignment can be accomplished using CRMS or the display panel: Using CRMS: 1. Verify that the screen is set to MultiPac display (see Assign Turbine Identifiers). 2. Disable both the new and existing master turbines using the Settings > MultiPac Settings menu selection, and repositioning the slider to Disable. 3. Remove the signal harness terminators from the existing master and move them to the new master. 4. Apply power to the new master turbine. 5. Establish communication with CRMS, traverse the MultiPac display window, and reprogram the new master turbine (master = 1). 6. MultiPac Enable the new master turbine. 7. Reboot the new master turbine. 410032 Rev D (February 2006) Page 13 of 16 This information is proprietary to Capstone Turbine Corporation.
