Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: Advanced Power Server (APS) • Start/Stop Button: This button provides a manual start/stop control for the selected group. Click the green START button to start the turbines in the group. After the turbine engines are spinning, the icon color changes to red and displays STOP. To stop the turbine engines, click the red STOP button. For any given group, the system must be enabled before the group is allowed to start regardless of group configuration. • Power Factor Adjustment: The Power Factor Adjustment field allows the user to set the value of the power factor for the selected group. The power factor value is adjustable as follows: o C65:from0.80to1.00inincrementsof0.01. o C200/C1000:from0.90to1.00inincrementsof0.01. The Lead/Lag button toggles between Lead and Lag when clicked. Use this button to select whether the power factor will be leading or lagging. In order to adjust power factor settings using this field, the power factor mode must be set to Variable (User) as described in paragraph 6.8.4.2. Otherwise this field will only display the power factor settings. • User Input Power Demand Selection Box: Use this selection box to enter a power demand in kilowatts for the selected group. The group must be a Grid Connect group, and the group configuration must be associated with a dispatch sequence where Power Demand is set for user input (refer to paragraph 6.8.4.3, Power Demand Settings). Otherwise, this selection box is grayed out. • Power Output Display: In the middle of the APS Command/Monitor window is the Power Output dial and textbox display. This displays the power output (kW) of the selected group in real time. To change the power output dial scaling, right click on the dial and enter the new maximum value. The power output scale on the Command/Monitor Strip Chart also changes automatically to match the new scaling on the Power Output dial. • Battery Start/Stop Button: The BATTERY START button is active only in Stand Alone operating mode. In Grid Connect mode, the icon is grayed out. Click the BATTERY START button to issue a global start command to the batteries of the turbines in the Stand Alone group. This provides power in Stand Alone mode to start the turbine engines. 410079 Rev. If the turbine software does not have the power factor correction capability, the power factor settings on the APS screen will not be available for use. The software versions that accept power factor settings are as follows: 1. Software version 5.40 (gaseous) or 2.20 (liquid fuel) and higher for C65 microturbines. 2. Software version 1.80 (gaseous) and higher for C200 microturbines and C600/C800/C1000 turbine assemblies.PDF Image | Technical Reference Advanced Power Server (APS)
