Cable Connections The following paragraphs describe how to connect the MultiPac cables between the APS and the turbines in a MultiPac. 4.4.1. RS-485 and Battery Wakeup (Inter-Start) Connections The MultiPac cable 509929-100 (15 feet) or 509929-200 (50 feet) is shown in Figure 18. It uses RS-485 Bus A and Bus B protocol communication to transfer inverter synchronizing signals between turbines operating in Stand Alone mode. Also, in Stand Alone mode, it transmits the battery wakeup, or inter-start, signal to the turbines. If the turbine connected to the APS is a C600, C800, or C1000, the battery wakeup signal from the APS is hardwired between the APS terminal block and the C1000 series controller terminal block TB1. The MultiPac cable 526949-100 (100 feet) has the same functional wiring as the 509929 series cable, but it does not contain connectors. It is designed for terminal block connections in the C600/C800/C1000 controller. A connector can be installed on one or both ends of the cable if necessary. 410079 Rev. NOTE: C200 and C600/C800/C1000 turbines can be combined together in a MultiPac. However, a C65 microturbine cannot be connected in a MultiPac in combination with C200 or C600/C800/C1000 turbines.
