The flexible diaphragm bags most nearly match the shape of the tool and part. With the incorporation of a vacuum pump or venturi block, pressures of 14.7 lbs. per square inch, 2,000 lbs. per square foot can be attained. This allows for predictable and consistent pressure application. The constant vacuum pressure in turn provides control of part thickness and assistance in core placement and bonding. Laminate strength directly relates to the ratio of fibre content to resin.
