Kruskal-Wallis tests were performed for all issues investigated (i.e., issues about dried product quality, drying processes, kiln control and kiln drying related knowledge of groups) and significant differences (p- values < 0.05) were found for 8 variables: discolouration because of fungi, discolouration because of temperature, discolouration because of sticker marks, spread of final moisture content, honeycomb, surface checking, electrical energy consumption, and spraying system. Subsequently, Scheffe tests were performed for these 8 variables. For the variable discolouration because offungi, the Scheffe test indicated two homogeneous groups. Results shown in Table 18 mean that there is a significant difference between softwoods and hardwoods.
