Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 Service Bulletin: Unifin-2 Interposing Relay Requirements Recommended Action Perform the following steps: Do not connect the fault signals of two or more MicroTurbines without isolating inputs through installation of a DPST switch. 1. Turn off all power sources to the Unifin heat exchanger. 2. Verify the Unifin-2 configuration by inspecting the control board and verify that DIP switch #8 is present. 3. Set the Unifin control board DIP switch #8 settings as follows: WARNING Select this setting Setting ON Setting OFF Set Power Fault Run Off 1=On O O C 0=Off O C O O = Open, C= Closed 4. Obtain an interposing relay (Digi-Key P/N Z784-ND, or equivalent) consistent with the following specifications: C30 - 12V, 100 mA, gold connectors, DPST C60 - 24V, 50 mA, gold connectors, DPST 5. Connect the relay as shown in the diagram below: 6. Configure the MicroTurbine software to recognize the run/stop and the external Unifin-2 fault signals. Relay #1 and Fault #1 are shown. Actual software settings should be adjusted to match hardware connections on site. a.
