Assembly Conduct assembly operations utilizing tooling and equipment as specified to avoid damage to delicate components. Check to ensure that all parts have been cleaned before starting assembly procedures. Refer to the Material Information sheet at the end of this document for a detailed listing of all items necessary for use during the assembly procedures. Assemble cooling fan components as follows: 1. Peel off backing from the new thermal pad 507115-001 and secure onto bottom of new heatsink 511244-001 (with two threaded studs 511261-001). Be sure to remove the backing from the thermal pad before securing the pad onto the heatsink. 2. Install new heatsink 511244-001 into place under the (3) existing screws 508566-007 on the BCT Power PCBA 503263-102. Secure the heatsink with the (3) screws 508566-007, removed during disassembly. 3. Using a 7/64-inch Allen torque driver with a torque wrench, torque each of the (6) screws 8 to 9 inch-pounds, in the sequence shown below. 4 2 65 1 3 4. Install the new cooling fan assembly 511234-100 onto the two threaded studs 511261-001 with the air flow arrow facing towards the heatsink 511244-001. Thermal Pad 507115-001 Remove Backing Before Installation Threaded Stud 511261-001 Heatsink 511244-001 (2) Flat Washers 508925-001 (2) Lock Nuts 506623-003 Torque: 5 Inch-Pounds Fan Assembly 511234-100 5. Secure the fan assembly 511234-100 with each of two flat washers 508925-001 and two lock nuts 506623-003. Using an 11/32-inch socket and a calibrated torque wrench, torque each of the nuts to 5 inch-pounds, in a criss-cross pattern.
