iv. Analysis of every filter effectiveness based on the waveform, total harmonic distortion (THD) and harmonic spectrum of the distribution system grid current. 1.5 Thesis Outline This thesis is divided into 5 chapters. Chapter 2 discusses the literature review while Chapter 3 explains the theories related to the project. These involve the detail explanation of components in a microturbine generation system, the mentioned filters, and review on previous works on microturbine generation system. The methodology of the project is discussed in Chapter 4. In this chapter, the procedures taken in the modelling and simulation of microturbine generation system with passive, active and hybrid filter are explained in details. The simulation results are presented in Chapter 5 and the analysis of the results are done in order to investigate the effectiveness of every filter.
