Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Advanced Power Server (APS): Installation Specification Resistive Thermal Device (RTD) Input Connections (Optional) Cable Requirements Cable parameters include the following items: • Wires must be 16 to 22 AWG. • Use the shortest wiring route whenever possible. • Use shielded wiring whenever possible. • Use same type of wires for all RTD leads. • Use the same length of wire for all leads of an RTD device. • Ground Shield at RTD source only. The RTD Signals shall be directly connected to the terminal connector on the TEMP RTD card in the PLC. The connector is removable for ease of installation. Capstone recommends using UL shielded and grounded conduits for all control signal wiring connections. Conduits that contain RTD signals shall be routed away from large motors, high current switches, or transformers. Figure 19 shows the typical wiring for RTD. Figure 19.
