Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Advanced Power Server (APS): Installation Specification Power Connections WARNING All sources of electrical power to the APS cabinet MUST BE isolated prior to opening the cabinet door. Power Requirements 120 VAC or 220 VAC depending on model (80 watts nominal operational usage). Cable Requirements Cable parameters include the following items: • All UPS power wires must be 10 to 24 AWG. • The torque for the screw connector shall be 5.5 in-lb. • Capstone recommends using UL weatherproof metallic grounded conduits for all power and signal wiring connections. • External AC power wiring with ground wire should be minimum 14-gauge stranded. Conduit should be grounded to enclosure and source chassis, hardwired into power source, with no disconnectable power plugs. All work shall comply with local and national codes. • The cable length from the APS to Dual Mode Controller (DMC) must be 500 feet or less for both cases (with or without Annunciator Panel). CAUTION Signal and power wiring must be routed in separate grounded conduits. Figure 7 shows the input power connections to the UPS device. UPS Ground Neutral Line Figure 7.
