Additional Operations The C200 HRM has additional features that may require user interaction as described in the following paragraphs. 3.3.1. Temperature Switch A temperature switch (see Figure 2) is installed in the header manifold as a secondary safety device. The temperature setpoint at which this switch activates can be adjusted if required. Refer to the C200 HRM Technical Reference (Table 1) for adjustment procedures. 3.3.2. Condensate Drain Valve The drain connection (see Figure 2) at the bottom of the HRM enclosure should be connected to piping that routes liquid condensate away from the HRM to a location where it can be safely drained. The condensate drain valve (not shown) is installed in the drain line (typically at the HRM drain connection) and is used to drain accumulated condensate liquid from the HRM. If necessary, open the drain valve to allow the condensate to drain out. Make sure that the drain valve is closed during operation of the HRM to prevent leakage of exhaust through the drain valve. 3.3.3. Manual Operation of the Exhaust Diverter In the event that the modulating actuator is unable to function properly, it is possible to manually adjust the exhaust diverter position using the manual override handle (see Figure 2). To adjust the position of the diverter, the manual override handle must be rotated in the proper direction as indicated on the actuator dial (see Figure 6). When operating the system in this manner, care must be taken to ensure that an unexpected or potentially unsafe condition is not created by electrical or thermal load changes. NOTE: The temperature switch is intended to be a secondary safety device that will initiate a microturbine fault if activated. Make sure that the programmed setpoint in the temperature controller is a lower value than the setpoint of the temperature switch. WARNING: In the event that the modulating actuator is not functioning properly, it is recommended that the microturbine and HRM be shut down and remain offline until a repair has been properly completed. If the microturbine is serving as a source of critical power, however, it is recommended that the exhaust diverter remain in full bypass position with water flowing through the HRM to minimize the risk to personnel and equipment until the repair is completed. 400021 Rev B (October 2012) Page 19 of 26 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
