Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Application Guide: High Humidity MicroTurbine Package Protected Electronic Components A protective coating is applied to electrical interconnection points within the MicroTurbine package during factory assembly. Replacement parts are available that include this protective coating (often referred to as “greased” components). These replacement parts are available through your Capstone Authorized Service Provider (ASP), or directly from Capstone in the case that the end user is trained as an ASP to provide their own service. Internal Battery Pack Dual Mode versions of the High Humidity package include an internal battery pack for black start and handling power transients. This battery includes two built-in sealed single pole contactors, which allow the battery to be completely disconnected when the MicroTurbine is not operating. The battery contactor coil is controlled externally, and must be wired into a control circuit to provide 24VDC power before the MicroTurbine can be started. Refer to Figure 1 for an example of the C30 battery pack. Figure 7 shows an example of the C65 battery pack. Refer to Figures 5 and 6 for the terminal connections (TB6-1[+] and TB6-2[-]) in the UCB for the battery contactor control power. Circuit Breaker Figure 7.
