12021 Internal Fault BATT SPI COM Loss of Battery SPI Communication System Severity Level 2 The Battery Controller Module communicates with the Battery Personality Module via the SPI bus. Packets are transmitted from the Battery Control Module DSP at a fixed rate, verifying the link is active. The software declares a loss of processor communication fault when the write verify failure counter reaches a preset value. Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution The Battery PM Verification Writes Failure Counter reaches 100. Open/loose connection Check the cable connection between the BCM Control Board and the battery pack. Tighten cable connections Faulty BCM Control Board Circuitry on BCM Control Board has failed Attempt a BCM PM upload. Replace BCM Control Board. Faulty Battery Pack Module. Battery Pack needs replacing. Attempt a Battery Pack PM upload. Replace Battery Pack. 12022 Internal Fault BATT INTRA COM Loss of Battery Intra-DSP Communications System Severity Level 2 The master CPU in the Digital Power Controller (DPC), transmits commands to and receives data from the DSP in the Battery Control Module, via the RS-485 communication link. Packets are transmitted from the master CPU at a fixed rate, verifying the link is active. The Battery Control software declares a fault when a new data packet is not received within a predetermined time. Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution BCM DSP has detected the loss of communica- tion between the BCM and Main CPU. Open/loose connection Check the connection of Intra Bus cables.
