11004 Internal Warning USR MSG CSUM User Message Checksum System Severity Level 1 This fault is declared if the checksum value of the packet is incorrect. Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution RS-232 Message Checksum Did Not Compute Correctly Poor connection Loose RS-232 cables can cause characters to be dropped during transmission. Checksum would not calculate correctly if this occurred. Ensure RS-232 cables are connected tightly and not damaged. Poor line quality Modem telephone line connection can be very unreliable causing characters to be dropped. Hang up and dial back. Incorrect wiring Wiring on Capstone unit's RS-232 connectors is according to the specification for DTE. Use a null modem cable when wiring from a computer. Correct wiring problem Transmitted data does not match protocol If the user programs communica- tion software, verify that characters are transmitted as specified by protocol. Update messages to match protocol defined in Capstone's Open Communication Protocol Specification. Incorrect Check- sum Transmitted Checksum of message received by the system does match the transmitted Checksum. Refer to Capstone's Open Communication Protocol Specification for correct calculation of Checksum. User Cable Connection Cable carrying messages between UCB and DPC could be loose or damaged. Dry and Secure User Cable at UCB and DPC. Replace if damaged. UCB Board UCB board could be damaged causing signals to not make it from the User Port connection to the User Cable. Replace UCB Board DPC Control Board DPC can have damaged circuitry that causes it to not receive correct message data.
