Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Application Guide: Capstone Service Network Power Supply: This industrial-grade power supply is capable of accepting 100-240VAC and providing 24VDC at a maximum of 5 amps to all modules within the Capstone SCADA 207 and 815 enclosures. Input Modules: Additional input modules can only be added to the Capstone SCADA 815. The 24Vdc power supply can be used to power external devices that interface to the input modules. The following Input Modules are available: 4 Channel Analog 4-20mA The Analog 4-20mA input module is used to receive analog inputs from devices such as pressure transducers and temperature controllers. The internal power supply (24Vdc) in the Capstone Gateway can be used as a wetting voltage. 4 Channel Analog ±10Vdc The Analog ±10Vdc input module can be configured to receive -10Vdc to +10Vdc, 0Vdc to +5Vdc, or 0Vdc to +10Vdc. Devices such as pressure transducers and temperature controllers can be easily configured with these adjustable inputs. The internal power supply (24Vdc) in the Capstone Gateway can be used as a wetting voltage. 4 Channel Thermocouple Thermocouple inputs are generally used in applications such as gas burners, brick kilns and drying processes that require higher temperatures. Ensure that correct thermocouple connectors and wires are used throughout the installation process. 4 Channel RTD RTD (PT100) inputs are generally used in applications that require lower temperatures such as ambient air and thermal loop temperatures. A RTD with 3 wires is required for this input module. The third wire is used to compensate for the resistance in the length of wire. 4 Channel Dry Contact The Dry Contact input module is used to accept potential free (dry contact) digital inputs. Examples of these inputs are fire alarms, water flow status, chiller alarms and building management alarms that may affect the operation of the MicroTurbine. The internal power supply (24Vdc) in the Capstone Gateway can be used as a wetting voltage. Maximum Voltage: 35Vdc 4 Channel Meter Pulse The Meter Pulse input module is used in applications to measure natural gas and thermal loop flow rates. The internal power supply (24Vdc) in the Capstone Gateway can be used as a wetting voltage. Maximum pulse rate: 50kHz Maximum Voltage RMS:140Vac Maximum Voltage Peak: 200Vac Note: The 24Vdc in the Capstone SCADA MUST BE FUSED with a 5A fuse if it is used as a wetting voltage for external devices. 480012 Rev A (April 2006) Page 5 of 13 This information is proprietary to Capstone Turbine Corporation.
