3040 Internal Fault ECM PWRSP TMP SH ECM Power Supply Temperature Sensor Short System Severity Level 3 This fault is reported when the ECM generator power supply temperature reads greater than 150 °C (302 °F). Note: This fault is not reported if the ECM Part Number is 509161 (GC only hardware - it uses different power supply thermistor). Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution High Temperature reading Installed in hot environment Read the specification and verify the temperature of air flow to electronics is as specified for product. Provide cooling air at specified temperature. Low power supply voltage Inadequate power supply voltage could cause false readings. Check power supply voltage to be 25.4V. Investigate low power supply voltage problem. (See Fault Code 3019) Debris on ECM Power Board/PDM Debris on Power Board or PDM could cause elevated tempera- tures with leakage current to ground. Clean surface of Power Board/PDM of debris. ECM fan failed Verify the fan is rotating when system is started Replace the Fan. Check fan cables from ECM (J5) to Fan Inverter, and from Fan Inverter to Fan. Fix cable problems Fan Inverter needs replacing Replace Fan Inverter. Faulty ECM Power Board Circuitry on ECM Power Board has failed. Replace ECM Power Board Faulty PDM Circuitry on PDM has failed.
