Restarting The Capstone 60 can normally be restarted following a shutdown, during the cooldown period. Once the Turbine Exit Temperature reaches 426 oC (800 oF), a restart may be initiated. Commanding the System Power Level In grid parallel operation, the Capstone 60 must be commanded to a specific output power level. Capstone 60 Emergency Stop (E-Stop) If an optional Emergency Stop (E-Stop) has been installed, the E-Stop switch may be activated in an emergency. Activating E-Stop immediately shuts off the fuel and electrical output. This will cause the compressor discharge bypass valve to open, venting the compressed air out of the turbogenerator and the MicroTurbine will coast to a stop. Note that following an emergency stop, the power to the Capstone 60 must be cycled (turned off for 30 seconds, and then turned on again). PRELIMINARY CAUTION: Repeated use of the optional Emergency Stop switch will result in damage to the MicroTurbine.
