Configuring Grid Connect Operating Mode Grid Connect mode requires the user to electrically connect the microturbine to the local utility. Once this is complete, simply apply utility grid power to energize the system. Refer to the Electrical Installation Technical Reference (410009) manual for detailed information on the interconnection requirements. Once the microturbine has been energized with 3-phase voltage, the following actions can be performed. 4.1. Software Settings 4.1.1. Grid Connect Configuration: Configure the microturbine system to recognize Grid Connect mode using Capstone Remote Monitoring Software (CRMS) or the local display panel. Select the applicable Grid Connect mode of operation as follows: • CRMS: From the microturbine control panel menu, select Settings > Control Settings, and set the Power Connect slider to Grid Connect or Dual Mode, depending on the application. Display panel: Enter the user password (default is 87712370) and navigate as follows - System Data > System Configuration > Power Connect, and then select Grid Connect or Dual Mode, depending on the application. Power Demand Configuration CRMS Control Settings Menu Description Value Default Power Connect Selects power connection mode Invalid State Stand Alone Grid Connect Dual Mode Invalid State 4.1.2. The power demand setting is active until the microturbine is shut down. Each time the microturbine starts up, any previous power demand setting is no longer available and the kW value is set to zero. If Auto Restart is enabled, the Stored Demand value will be used for the power demand when the microturbine automatically restarts after a shutdown.
