Care was taken to ensure that the influence of potential acoustic reflections from nearby walls and vehicles was minimized. The calculated noise contribution from potential reflecting surfaces did not exceed 0.4 dBA. Figure A-1 represents the typical test setup. Figure A-1. Typical Test Setup The measurements were recorded with an HP 35670A Dynamic Signal Analyzer and a Larson Davis microphone (with a 40 kHz bandwidth). Prior to taking measurements, the microphone was calibrated. Measurements were taken on a 5-meter radius from the estimated acoustic center of the enclosure. The microphone height was 1.5 meters above the ground. The noise data was A-weighted and was averaged over a 15 second interval using linear averaging. Measurements were taken at five points around the enclosure on a 5-meter radius centered on the acoustic center of the package (the stator housing).
