Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: C200/C1000 Fuel Gas Booster Fault Codes The turbine software reports FGB fault signals as turbine fault codes that can be accessed by the C200 display panel (refer to C200 User Manual 400008), C1000 series controller display panel (refer to C1000 Series User Manual 400024), or remote monitoring. The VFD also includes a display panel where VFD fault codes can be viewed. Table 4 provides a list of FGB fault codes as displayed by the turbine software and by the VFD display panel. The system severity level (SSL) of each turbine fault code is also listed in the table. As shown in Figure 4, the wires from the FGB sensor switches are connected to the FCB through connector J6. Each of these sensor signals is given a specific fault code by the turbine software. Since any sensor fault signal is detected by the VFD at its External Fault (LI6) input, the VFD displays a single external fault code (EtF) for all FGB sensor faults. The VFD also displays a fault code for a pressure transducer malfunction (LFF) if the analog input from the transducer is lost or degraded. VFD faults are reported to the FCB through Relay 1 (R1A) on the VFD, which is wired to the Compressor Fault (CMPFLT) input on connector J6. Any fault appearing at this input is assigned the FGB fault code 18033. VFD internal faults, FGB sensor faults (VFD external fault), and the pressure transducer fault are all reported by the VFD at the CMPFLT input. Therefore, all faults resulting from FGB components are assigned the FGB fault code by the turbine. Since the pressure transducer is wired only to the VFD, with no discrete input to the FCB, a fault resulting from the pressure transducer is only displayed through the turbine software as FGB fault 18033. The VFD panel must be accessed to determine if the FGB fault was caused by the pressure transducer. Table 4.
