When servicing the units, straight hex keys should be used instead of ball-end hex keys for door latches to prevent stripping the hex openings. General Inspection Inspect the enclosure for air or water leaks at seals and gaskets around doors, pipe connections, and conduit fittings. Also check for leaks through the screw threads securing the gland plates to the enclosure, as well as the gaskets around the screw latches on the doors. Refer to the Capstone Scheduled Maintenance Work Instructions (440000) for required inspection and replacement schedules of stainless steel package components. Maintenance Procedures The following paragraphs describe the maintenance procedures for the hazardous location components and enclosure. System Permissives During service, bypassing the pressure switch and purge time permissives is recommended. Temporarily reconfigure the Start priority to User and disable both fault inputs. This bypasses the control system permissives, except the Alarm2 level and fault for the gas detector. This option also inhibits the controller from controlling the turbine assembly. The turbine will not respond to a wake up command if the battery packs are switched off locally or remotely. In the case that the system needs to be tested with the control system operational, bypass the pressure switch as described in the Pressure Switch paragraph below. The turbine system produces and contains high voltage. High voltage can injure or kill. Obey all safety procedures when you work around electrical equipment. Only Capstone Authorized Service Providers are permitted access to the inside of the enclosure. WARNING Remove power and disconnect all circuits before servicing any electrical equipment in a classified area. The area around the hazardous location enclosure must be free of explosive gases before servicing the unit. WARNING CAUTION NOTE NOTE 480047 Rev.
