Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Application Guide: C200 Hazardous Location Turbine Assembly Pressure Switch Figure 3. Pressure Switch Differential Pressure Transmitters The differential pressure transmitters are shown in Figure 4. Each pressure transmitter has high pressure and low pressure inputs, and electrical terminals that are hard-wired to the hazardous location controller. The high and low pressure inputs detect a difference in pressure at specified locations, and the transmitter sends this pressure differential to the controller as a digital signal. Refer to Table 1 and the pressure transmitter vendor specifications on page A-7 for more details. Enclosure Pressure Transmitter The enclosure pressure transmitter is wall-mounted in the engine section below the pressure switch. The high and low pressure inputs of the transmitter are connected by tubes through tee connectors to the high and low inputs of the pressure switch so that the transmitter and switch both sense the pressure at the same locations. The tee connector in the high pressure line is open to the enclosure pressure. The tee connector in the low pressure line is connected to a flame arrestor located at the air inlet side of the blowers. The enclosure pressure transmitter transmits the enclosure pressure to the hazardous location controller. Redundant Fan Status Pressure Transmitter The redundant fan pressure transmitter is mounted in the front door above the pressurization blowers. It is connected by tubes to the high and low pressure sides of the blowers, and alerts the hazardous location controller if there is a pressure loss from one of the blowers. 480047 Rev.
