5. Principle of Operation The operational schematics of the plant are as shown in the flow diagram. The gas scrubbing is a two-stage process in which the sour gas is first passed through a single device and then the reacted water is filtered for removal of the contaminants. The sour gas is first passed from the bottom of the device and thru the catalytic chamber. The clean gas is taken out from the top of the device and continues towards the sales line. The H2S present in the gas is absorbed by the reacted water and is converted into elemental Sulphur. The Sulphur is removed by filtering using the filter press. The solution is regenerated and re-circulated for further cleaning of the sour gas. Sweet Gas Out Inducer Recharges Reacted water Sour Gas In Filter System Fresh air is introduced into the Water tank to provide the levels of oxygen to react with the Inducer and the iron.
