Public Facility Simpkins Family Swim Center Santa Cruz, California This modern municipal recreation center in California’s Santa Cruz Department of Parks relies on two Capstone C60 ICHP systems to control power costs. Environmental stewardship is a hallmark of this coastal community. Conserving energy and minimizing fuel usage were critical aspects of this public endeavor. Accomplishing this by using one of the world’s cleanest-burning technologies doesn’t hurt either. The integrated heat exchanger atop each system ensures that the center’s 50-meter pool and warm water wading pool maintain proper temperature regardless of this oceanside town’s cool climate.
