H S0=0 &D &C1 Hang Up Modem Auto Answer Off Ignore DTR Low Set DCD to only be asserted when online Table 7 - Modem Initialization Sting Description. Capstone Capstone Turbine Corporation 6025 Yolanda Avenue Tarzana, CA 91356 1.3.6.3 RING Command After DPC software has initialized the modem it is ready to receive a phone call. The modem is then expected to send the string “RING” indicating a call is being received. Controller software will send the command “ATA” once “RING” is received to answer the modem. It is assumed that the modem does auto- baud negotiation over the telephone wire. The modem is then expected to transmit “CONNECT ...” and assert DCD, declaring that communications have been established. Controller software then communicates as if it were directly connected to a PC serial port. 1.3.6.4 Hang Up Command When DCD is dropped during a modem session, controller communications cease, “ATH” is sent to hang up the modem, and controller software begins to query for a modem. 1.3.6.5 Modem Initialization String The following strings are transmitted to initialization the modem for operation: "ATHS0=0&D&C1" For further information, reference Table 7 - Modem Initialization Sting Description. Initialization String Description The factory defaults are not assumed by this command because some modems will require special configurations to work. 1.4 USER COMMAND SUMMARY Standard definition of command arguments shall assume that missing arguments infers a read operation. A unique six-character string, command description, argument definition, port availability, and security requirements are used to define commands. Information for each command is provided in the table below. Command line argument types are defined through a sequence of meta characters shown in the column titled “Argument”. This character string controls how the command parser interprets and stores comma separated arguments entered after the equal (=) sign. The following meta characters are currently defined: 'd' -- signed decimal number 'u' -- unsigned decimal number 'h' -- unsigned hexadecimal number 'sh' -- signed hexadecimal number 'f' -- float point (no scaling) 's' -- string terminated with whitespace or comma '1' -- following number(s) are stored in 1-byte (i.e. (char *) argv [n]) '2' -- following number(s) are stored in 2-bytes (i.e. (short *) argv [n]) '4' -- following number(s) are stored in 4-bytes (i.e. (long *) argv [n]) '+' -- previous conversion repeats until command line exhausted '-' -- command parameter optional 1-7
